the closeness of the missionary school made him a first audience for the young missionary student who used to come to his store to challenge him and pose questions and doubts that he had no clue how to answer; he searched for answers, and found many in the famous book “Izharul-Haqq, by “ a book that rebuts allegations made by non-Muslims.

In 1940, Sheikh Deedat gave his first major public speech in the Durabn Avalon Cinema, it was titled “Muhammad (peace be upon Him) a Messenger of Peace”, the success he had brought more audience to his talks which were moved to a the Durban City Hall to accommodate the 2000 plus audience that faithfully attended his talks.

Hallmark: Sheikh Deedat studied the Bible extensively and developed a very profound understanding of it, he wrote more than twenty books and gave thousands of talks that mostly focused on understanding the Bible; understanding life and mission of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon Him), Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) in the Bible, comparing the Quran and the Bible. 1985 with a missionary prof. Floyd Clark; yet his most famous debate, called “the Great Debate” was held in the U.S. with Rev. Jimmy Swaggart. He delivered thousands of lectures all over the world, crossing all the continents and successfully engaging some of the biggest names in Christian evangelists in public debates. Many of his books have been translated into the many different languages: Russian, Urdu, Arabic, Bengali, Bangladeshi, French, Amharic, Chinese, Japanese, Mayalam, Indonesian,, Zulu , Afrikaans, Dutch, Norwegian amongst others.
