Babylon for Egypt. There he carried on his mission, calling people to what is just and fair, teaching them certain prayers and instructing them to fast on certain days and to give a portion of their wealth to the poor.

He was the first of the Children of Adam to be given prophethood after Adam and Seth (peace upon them). It is reported that he was the 1st to invent the basic form of writing. Some of his wise sayings are:

Happy is he who looks at his

PROPHET ENOCH (IDRIS)

Allah has praised Enoch, describing him as being a prophet and truthful: Mention in the Book (Quran) Idris (Enoch). Verily! He was a man of truth (and) a prophet. We raised him to a high station. (Ch 19:56-57 Quran).

Enoch was born and raised in Babylon following the teachings and religion of Prophet Adam (pbuh) and his son Seth (pbuh). Enoch was the 5th generation of the Prophet Adam. He called the people back to his forefathers religion, but only a few listened to him, while the majority turned away.

Prophet Enoch and his followers left

own deeds and appoints them as pleaders to his Lord

None can show better gratitude for Allah's favors than he who shares them with others. Do not envy people for what they have as they will only enjoy it for a short while. He who indulges in excess will not benefit from it. The real joy of life is to have wisdom.

Text Box: ‘Emarat-al-Masjid
(Attending and maintaining the masjid)

Attending the masjid is a sign of belief and a proof of faith, Abu Sa’id reported that the Prophet (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said” if you see a man frequenting the masjid, then testify that he has faith. As Allah says, “The attendants of Allah’s mosque are those who believe in Allah and the last day [At-Taubah: 18]” this is related by Ahmed, Ibn Majah, Ibn Khuzaimah, Ibn Hibban, and by at-Tirmidhi, who says it is hasan (rated good), and by al-Hakim who says it is saheeh (rated sound). Please do yourself a favor; please win a testimony of faith by attending the masjid more frequently.

The masjid is most important building in any locale, the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wasallam) ordered that Masajid be built in residential areas and they be cleaned and perfumed; Ahmad, Abu dawud, at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and Ibn Hibban recorded this hadith. He (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wasallam) also said” the rewards of my ummah will placed before me, even for removing a speck of dust from the masjid” recorded by Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Khuzaimah. The best thing to do is to both, frequent the masjid and financially support it, if that is not feasible, then doing one of the two will be the second best thing, the following hadith clarifies this point, Zeyad Ibn Soudah narrated that Maymoona, the servant of he Messenger  (may Allah be pleased with her) said” I said:” O Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling regarding Bait-al-Maqdis (af-tina fee bait-il-Maqdis), he (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said’ go and pray in it, if you are not able to go and pray in it, then send oil that will used in lighting its lamps” related by Abu Dawud.

Brothers and sisters, Allah is very generous and He (subhanahu wa ta’aala) rewards on intentions, even when we fall short of realizing carrying out our intentions, therefore, resolve today to do as many salawat (prayers) in the masjid as possible, even when we miss the congregation, the reward will not diminish, rather, you will be rewarded as if you prayed with the jama’ah (congregartion); a saheeh (sound) hadith confirms this point, Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said” if anyone makes a good wudu, then proceeds to the masjid, but finds that people have already prayed, Allah will give him the reward of those who prayed in congregation without reducing any of their reward)   Abu Dawud, an-Nasaee, Ahmad, and al-Hakim.
